How a Purpura Nephritis Patient Recovers

Name: Mr Yang

Nationality: Yi Minority, Chinese 

Diagnosis: Purpura Nephritis, uremia stage 

Symptoms: renal anemia, renal high blood pressure, with fatigue and dizziness. 

Medical history: 

   In January, 2011, he caught a cold. Three days after he drank alcohol, there appeared bleeding spots in the inside of the leg, which spread into the whole lower limbs. Then, Mr Yang went to the local hospital and had a physical examination. The report is as follows: protein in urine +++, occult blood +, blood pressure 130/80mmHg，and was diagnosed with Purpura Nephritis. Mr Yang was recommended to have prednisone. One month later, the purpura disappeared. The protein in urine turned +， and what’s more, the serum creatinine turns normal. One month after he arrived home, he stopped taking in prednisone. 

 However, after 2 months, one more cold made him feel fatigue, dizziness and other same symptoms again. The blood pressure was 170/110mmHg, which was higher than before. In addition, serum creatinine was 940umol/L. Then he went to Shijiazhuang Kidney Disease Hospital. His doctor said that only western medicine is not enough and we should try another one, which can both repair the damaged intrinsic cells and increase immune ability. 

After Mr Yang was discharged in our hospital, he was arranged a treatment plan, the therapy of which includes dialysis, Chinese Medicine and stem cell transplant. 

Firstly, dialysis is necessary, for the serum creatinine was not normal at that time. We arranged twice a week so as to clear the toxins as soon as possible. As a matter of fact, the dialysis was not so frequent as that in the first week.
