Can Soaps Cause Kidney Disease in Children

Can soap cause kidney disease in childrenRecently, there appeared such news on the internet, which shocked many parents. Soaps can cause children kidney disease, a university warned that soaps containing mercury, which can cause CKD in children. Prof Timothy Adedoyin of the Paediatrics and Child Health Department, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin disclosed this yesterday while delivering the 109th Inaugural Lecture of the university.According to Adedoyin during the lecture moderated by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Ishiaq Oloyede, “the use of soap containing mercury in children is a modifiable risk factor in CKD. The soap, like bleaching cream, has mercury which is injurious to the kidney.”He added: “There is no uniform distribution of mercury and since it has poor lipid solubility, it accumulates mostly in the kidneys with insufficient renal excretion resulting in renal damage.”
What shall parents pay attention to? When parents are choosing a soap in a supermarket, we should read the instructions carefully to check whether there is elements we mentioned above.
Actually, soap is only one element which can cause chronic kidney disease. There are many other kinds of factors which can cause children kidney disease such as gene, immune problem, infection and so on.

  1. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
