Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney disorder where there is abnormal leakage of protein in urine, low levels of proteins in blood and swelling of body. Because of the permeability increase of glomerular filtration membrane, a great deal of plasma protein was lost in the urine, which caused the proteinuria of Nephrotic Syndrome. The incidence of this disease ranks second in urinary system diseases, and its clinical features are Albuminemia, much albuminuria, Hypercholeslerolemia and obvious dropsy(oedema or swelling).
The early symptoms of nephrotic syndrome are not obvious. Later symptoms will mainly manifest in palpebrae, and hydrops will appear in splanchnic serouscavity, such as pleural effusion and ascites. The skin will be thin and transparent if the dropsy is serious and will ooze even if slightly damaged. Edema will influence blood circulation, lower the immune response, and infection is very likely to happen. Generally, the treatment for nephrotic syndrome is as follows:
1. western medicine(medication)
As for diminishing symptoms, western medicine has great advantages. Hormonal medicine can alleviate the leaking of the urine protein in a short term and reduce the problems like hypoproteinemia which is caused by too much albuminuria. The application of diuretics can relieve the symptom of body dropsy rapidly. However, hormonal medicine has no curative effect, and even has side effects when used in albuminuria, simple hematuria, acute nephritis caused by severe mesangium proliferative glomerulonephritis, membranous nephropathy of stage 2 or later, membrane hyperplastic nephritis, and focal glomerular sclerosis in addition to chronic renal failure caused by various nephritis.
2. Chinese Medicine(herbs)
Chinese Medicine is a characteristic therapy created by Kidney Disease Hospital after years of clinical practice and research. This kind of therapy mainly aims at the repair of the damaged basement membrane of the kidney, and deals with the kidney fibrosis, and immune complex caused by kidney inflammation. The application of multi-targets measures can reduce the immune response, decrease the side-effects of the medicine, and gradually diminish the clinical dosage of hormone.
3.Stem cell therapy
With nephrotic syndrome developing, renal failure will come into being and there must be sclerotic cells in the kidney, which worsen kidney damage and in this case, there will be less blood flow in the kidney. In this condition, both western medicine and Chinese herbs can not deal with and stem cell can turn the tide, which can differentiate into renal glomerular cells, thus rebuilding renal structure and reviving renal function.
